They’ve been designed by Nike, Puma, and Adidas over the years - and the designs show it.
From 1986-1993, Adidas designed football shirts for Arsenal. Sure, the pillar-box red and white sleeves were there, but there was nothing particularly stand-out about the designs.
When Nike took over in 1994, they made some changes - especially to the away kit!
Arsenal’s lucky yellow and blue away kit took them to three consecutive FA Cup finals between 1978 and 1980 (and also made our best football kits of all time list) before it was changed to a multi-tonal blue kit.
No wonder it left them feeling blue…
Puma took over designing shirts in 2014 before Adidas took the helm once more in 2019.
The 2023-24 away kit from Adidas even made our top football shirts of the season list!
