Retro Spanish football shirts are ¡genial!
But which vintage Spanish shirts are at the top of La Liga?
Let’s find out…
The Best Retro Spanish Football Shirts
With so many amazing retro Spanish tops out there, will your favourite be on our list?
10. Barcelona - 2002 - Home
FC Barcelona are a notable team in La Liga and this shirt certainly lives up!
The blue and garnet stripes are a classic colourway the team has been using since 1900.
And the V-neck design just adds to the retro feel.
9. Spain - 1996 - Away
Spain wore this retro jersey to Euro 96!
Euros football shirts are always special, and this year is no exception. Euro 96 was the first time 16 teams competed in the Euros.
And why do we love that? Because more teams means more shirts!
Unfortunately for Spain, it was Germany who won the Euros that year.

8. Athletic Club - 1996 - Away
What a shirt for Los Leones!
Stripes again (shock) but with matching collar and cuffs as well as V-neck with the team name in the middle of the chest - it’s 100% vintage vibes.
7. Barcelona - 1998 - Third
Another retro football shirt for Barcelona!
What can we say, they wear some great shirts.
This 1998 third shirt stands out from the crowd thanks to that orange body - but you wouldn’t be the only one to mistake it for a shirt the Dutch would wear!
We’re not sure what Nike was thinking when designing this shirt, but you’ll be glad to hear the traditional blue and garnet are still featured.

6. Real Madrid - 1996 - Home
Now this is a vintage classic!
The purple, the gradient diagonal stripes, the paw prints on the shoulder…
What’s not to love about this retro Spanish football shirt?
5. Real Betis - 1995 - Home
They may be known as Los Mejores, but unfortunately this shirt from Real Betis hasn’t topped our best of retro Spanish tops list.
Designed by Kappa, this shirt has the traditional green and white stripes expected of Los Verdiblancos.
Why change a great shirt?

4. Atlético Madrid - 1999 - Home
This shirt screams retro!
The collar that’s also not a collar, the buttons, the stripes within stripes - it’s perfect in every sense of the word.
3. Barcelona - 1995 - Away
Just look at this shirt!
There’s a theme appearing here - stripes were definitely a trend back in the 90s.
The blue and red with the Barca detail on the stripes and between the collar are a Kappa design choice we still stand by!

2. Spain - 2000 - Home
This Spain home shirt for the 2000 Euros evokes so many memories!
It’s definitely one of our favourite Euros shirts and for good reason - the bright primary colours that match the country’s badge, the collar, the slight V-neck.
When designing this shirt, Adidas knew what it was doing!
1. Barcelona - 1997 - Third
This Barcelona third shirt from 1997 has topped our best retro Spanish football shirts list and for good reason.
It has the Barca and Kappa jacquard print we all love but with new and exciting colours.
Just look at that turquoise!
It’s everything we want from a retro football top and more.
